Recap of Our Atlanta Market Experience

Happy Friday beautiful friends! I hope you've had a wonderful week! The sunshine and warm weather this week has definitely been the pick-me-up I think we all needed. Two weeks ago, Beth, Ashley, and I attended Atlanta Apparel Market to shop for new Spring and summer pieces, accessories, shoes, and for our fall collection. We saw so much and had a blast while we were there! Today, I wanted to give y'all an exclusive behind-the-scenes take on our experience at market! From what we wore, to what we observed, to trends we predict, there's a lot to share, so let's jump right into it! 

The first thing you should know about market is that you get your steps in! We did a ton of walking, so sneakers were a non-negotiable MUST. They definitely saved our feet while still being stylish. On the first day, I dressed for comfort and wore tennis shoes with leggings and an Atlanta Braves sweatshirt (Can you tell I'm a baseball fan?!) Ashley wore an adorable solid color top with printed puff sleeves, flared jeans, and classic white sneakers. Beth wore a printed blouse with her Classic Jean Jacket and dark wash jeans, complete with classic white sneakers. 

On day two, I wore a satin tank midi dress with a t-shirt over it, a distressed jean jacket, and white sneakers. Ashley wore a super trendy color block striped button down half-tucked into dark wash skinny jeans with white sneakers and her stunning gold All That Glitters Headband. Beth wore her beautiful Red Ikat V-Neck Pullover Top with black skinny jeans and black sparkly sneakers. 

On our last day, I wore a black blouse with ruffled sleeves, mauve cropped flared jeans, and black and white striped sneakers with a braided black headband. Ashley wore black joggers with her white Short Sleeve Pima Cotton Slub Tee, a denim jacket, and her white sneakers. Finally, Beth wore a printed orange top with her Kendrick Jacket in white, dark wash jeans, and her white sneakers. 

We got to celebrate fashion, see a lot of fun outfits from fellow market goers, and shop 'til we dropped, all while remaining comfy in our casual chic outfits. 

A few months ago, I wrote a blog about Spring Fashion Predictions. Based on the inventory that we saw at market, I was pleased to see those predictions come true! We saw a TON of bold colors and unique prints that really caught our eye. We also saw lots of puff sleeves, high necklines, tiered dresses and skirts, a-line silhouettes, ruffles, and pleats, all of which emphasize an equally sophisticated and feminine look. Another thing we saw a lot of was linen. From rompers to jumpsuits to dress suits, linen was everywhere! As it is lightweight, breathable, and comfortable to wear, I think we can expect to see a lot of this fabric as we enter Summer.

Embroidery was another trend that was universal across the whole market. Floral and geometric embroidery decorated many tops, dresses, jackets, bags, and even shoes! Speaking of shoes, let's talk about what we saw in the footwear category! The selection was overwhelming, but we saw a TON of platform sandals and slip on shoes like mules and clogs. Additionally, slip-on sneakers with a chain across the toe were a shoe that every vendor seemed to have a version of. Another shoe we saw a lot of was a slip-on chunky heel with braided straps. Our Ceana Braided Strap Heels fit this trend perfectly! Finally, pearl-studded sandals and wedges were also a big trend. We ordered some gorgeous shoes that we know you'll LOVE and we can't wait for you to see them!

Lastly, we got to attend a fabulous fashion show to close out our second day at market. You can check out our Facebook or Instagram to see the videos. The models were fabulous and gave a glimpse of what we can expect to see come Fall. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of pleather, shimmer, oversized blouses and sweaters, and chelsea boots, to name a few!
